This uniquely styled bird feeder with it's 7 in diameter disk is designed to protect the suet from driving rain. The fine wire mesh makes it all but impossible for squirrels to eat suet destined for song birds. The cylindrical feeder shape allows birds to eat from any side and angle and favors clinging and perching birds (squirrels have not been able to eat from this feeder in my experience so far....) The length of the cylinder (11 inches) acts as a tail prop for woodpeckers.

Refill the suet cage from the top with suet balls or nuggets by simply unhooking its wire clasp from the eye hooks under the protective disk. The feeder will hold 4 standard size (4 oz.) suet balls, a bag of nuggets (27 oz.)or a combination of those.

Handcrafted on a lathe, this bird feeder top is made from natural non-pressure treated Douglas Fir to which a coat of water-based deck stain was applied for weather protection and style. As it is for decks, it is prudent to stain it every few years in order to ensure the durability of the wood exposed to the elements.

Because of the characteristics of wood and because every feeder is individually handcrafted, there will be some variations between the items. I have taken care to select the best wood possible for each feeder.
