The “Dreameria” series of Armeria is truly wonderful. These breakthrough beauties bloom from spring to fall (full disclosure – I do snip off stems past their prime)! Innovative breeding has transformed the genus from a strictly cool-season perennial into a season-long flowering plant. Last year I raved about ‘Vivid Dreams’ – this year, ‘Hypnotic Dreams’ delivers masses of large, globe-shaped ruby-red flowers – quite the Armeria coup! Like its vivid counterpart, ‘Hypnotic’ blooms over the same neat, mounded foliage. Both stems and foliage are thicker and sturdier than other Sea Thrift, and its heat tolerance, petite size, and ornamental foliage make it perfect for sunny borders, rock gardens, or containers..
