As the name suggests, this is a cool and lovely intergeneric hybrid of Bergenia and Mukdenia. The dark pink flowers are from the Bergenia and shiny thick, leathery foliage with jagged burgundy edges are Mukdenian. The best of both, ‘Flame’ blooms in early spring to summer, then with cooler temperatures shows that unique fall color.
