Iris Siberica "Miss Apple" COMING SOON!

Iris Siberica "Miss Apple" COMING SOON!
The “Peacock” series Siberians have most unusual coloring - though not all to my liking. “ Miss Apple” is strikingly different from any other Siberian I know and is oh-so-lovely. Beautifully shaded violet styles crown deep red-violet falls that are heavily splashed with gold signals. She is an early season bloomer, quite floriferous and reportedly sweetly fragrant. What more could one possibly ask of a Siberian?. .Miss Apple was selected for the series based on its unusual flower color and heavy bloom. She makes the same large clumps of tall strong sword shaped leaves that look good all summer and are resistant to deer.
30 inches tall and will spread 2 feet
Siberians thrive in wet areas but do well in average soil .. full sun to part shade. Too much shade will affect flowering.
Please note that we also make vases and stainless steel hand tools - these are available in our “Home and Garden” section
This vase is made with a single, solid piece of walnut hardwood from a tree that was cut to avoid power line interference in Colts Neck, NJ. It was turned on a wood lathe with the grain oriented lengthwise - one of the photos shows the vase on the lathe before completion.
The vase design is relatively tall (9 inch) by 2-1/4 inch diameter and includes a 60mL capacity fixed glass insert. (Glass insert means you can put a little water in the vase). It’s simple, minimalist design comprises a series of delicate line carvings approximately 1/3 distance from the bottom of the vase set off by two circular lines. The base is set off by a small circular groove to give a sense of solidity in an otherwise slim and light design. Because the vase is rather tall compared to its base, it’s capacity to hold multiple flowers will depend on the size and weight of the flowers and how evenly they are distributed around the vase, but as you can see from the photo, the vase is stable with a large peony flower and a bud.
The vase is finished with a polyurethane coating that is water resistant - after adding water, just wipe the vase with a cloth to avoid staining.
