I love stokesia for its ability to survive almost anywhere and bloom for a long time well into the doldrums of late summer.  But this new variety is a bit special.  ‘Amethyst was bred to have upright, strong stems, a high flower count, and super-sized purple flowers.   This is a serious upgrade on an already great plant ( I may have to keep them all for myself!)     Upright habit and dense foliage
