Joe-Pye Weeds are bold specimen plants, perfect for adding a structural element to the border. ‘JoJo’ is much more compact than other Joe-Pye selection that tops out at 3-4 ft. Dome shaped clusters of “vibrant pink” flowers (While that is the official color, I am still calling it a mauve), bloom from early summer to hard frosts. They are still fragrant and always a magnet for butterflies. Stems become dark maroon at maturity and add interest. Finally a eupatorium for a refined space. ‘Jo’ enjoys rich moist soil but can tolerate a variety of abuses. Flowers are long-lived and the seed heads attract fall birds.
